The Spander Christmas Cracker

Chocolate Eyes at Christmas Time

Notes

Alone I walk upon the snow the tracks

of one in this cold pale dawn.

I see the trees in the window

panes with tinsel, lights and ornaments.

As I pull my coat around me tight and

think of others on this night. The ones

I've lost, the ones I've found, as I walk

this lonely cold snow filled town.

As I walk the streets at night and look

at all the wonderful sights, what do I

hear, what do I see but two chocolate

eyes staring up at me.

What's this then you poor little thing,

no home, no love, just this dark and

cold alleyway. I was once like you, no

love, no home, just the thought of being

on my own, but a hand was held out to

me hard worn and rough from work it

would seem, oh but the softness when

they hold me tight.

So come my little friend, come with

me and I'll take you home with me

as I gently lay you under our tree with

tinsel shining bright with all the

colored lights nestled in the packages

bright and in the morning when he wakes

to see his eyes sparkle bright in that

loving light.

When work rough hands hold us tight

in the morning light and on this day

of happiness and cheer we will both

know our place is always here, in his

arms and in his house, love will grow

all through the year.

As I walk this lonely snow filled town

and as I'm looking down at the tracks

I see not just me but the both of us as

it should be.

One becomes two and two becomes three.

Well here we are your new home and all

the warmth and love you could ever need on

this day with the sun just raising the sleepy smile

and the sweet surprise that I see growing in his

eyes as two pair of chocolate eyes meet and on

this day our family is complete.
